    The Honolulu Zoo is home to more than 900 animal species from the tropics, including Monitor Lizards, Komodo Dragons, zebras, orangutans, penguins, elephants, monkeys, and the exotic Bongo from Africa. See an array of rare species of frogs and birds like the Wrinkled Hornbill, and the Sun Bear from Southeast Asia.

    Yes, there is self-parking at Honolulu Zoo. The parking lot entrance is on Kapahulu Avenue and charges $1.50 per hour. The Waikiki Shell parking lot across the street on Monsarrat Avenue has free parking. If you don't have a car, the zoo is only 1.5 miles from Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort making ride shares a breeze.
