No trip to Hawaii is complete without a surf lesson from the pros. Faith Surf School by the famed Moniz family of surfers is located right on Waikiki Beach. Learn how to surf, stand-up paddleboard and ride a wave in an outrigger canoe on Oahu’s most scenic beach.

Hawaii carries ancient traditions in the art of handicrafts, with wood carvings being a trademark of the islands. Learn about the ancient art of carving from a local master Kawika Manu, and try your hand at carving your own Hawaiian Tiki - Polynesian Gods. Manu brings four generations of woodcarving experience and will share the stories of the various Hawaiian Gods the tikis represent. Take a unique woodcarving souvenir home with you. After the class, head over to Duke’s Waikiki lunch, where you’ll have an ocean-front reserved table and be treated to an island-inspired buffet lunch with tea, coffee, punch or a soft drink.

Private authentic Haku Lei making class for two
Haku lei is a type of Hawaiian lei that is worn on the head. It is typically made from various fresh flowers, foliage, and other natural materials woven together into a circular or semi-circular shape. The flowers used in a Haku lei can vary depending on the occasion and the availability of flowers. Common flowers used in a Haku lei include plumeria, orchids, hibiscus, pikake, and maile. Other materials, such as ferns, leaves, and grasses, can also be incorporated to add texture and interest to the lei. Haku leis are often worn at special events such as birthdays, weddings, graduations, and hula performances. They are a beautiful way to embrace the island's culture and traditions.
