Maui fire alert frequently asked questions
As of 9/8/23, the State of Hawaii has an emergency proclamation in place that all non-essential travel to Maui is strongly discouraged until October 8th. OUTRIGGER does have availability at our neighbor island resorts during this time.

If your travel is between August through October 7, 2023 in a West Maui destination (including Lahaina, Nāpili, Kāʻanapali, and Kapalua), guests can cancel, change or rebook to another island in Hawaii at the same confirmed rates for a similar room type.
Options for managing your trip for West Maui stays between August and October 7, 2023
- Modify the dates of the reservation at the same property, OUTRIGGER will honor the same rate and inclusions in a similar room type, based upon availability
- Offer to move the guest to another property on a different island for same or different dates similar room type, based upon availability
- Guest may cancel with no penalty and a full refund within the impacted dates which are now through October 7, 2023
Guests who wish to change their stay dates to later months due to the fire can do so at the same initial rate as their current booking for a similar room type.
Update on The Plantation Inn
We are heartbroken to share that reports indicate The Plantation Inn has been irreparably damaged as a result of the devastating wildfires in historic Lahaina Town. This charming 18-room bed and breakfast was a beloved retreat for the last 35 years.
OUTRIGGER’s top priority at this time is ensuring the well-being of our employees and guests. We are working tirelessly to ensure that all of our employees are safe and are providing hotel rooms to any OUTRIGGER employee who has been displaced by the fires.
Current guests are being relocated as necessary within OUTRIGGER's properties across the Hawaiian Islands. The reservations team at OUTRIGGER is available to assist with rebooking current reservations and recommends evaluating travel plans for the remainder of this month.
