Enjoy cocktails with Castaway hosts and fellow guests as the sun sets, and our Castaway family performs a traditional Meke of Fijian songs and dances.
The resort celebrates with a traditional Fijian feast every Wednesday evening.
The celebration begins with a Manager's Reception from 6 pm - 7 pm under the Vutu tree adjacent to the Water's Edge Restaurant. Enjoy cocktails with Castaway hosts and fellow guests as the sun sets, and our Castaway family performs a traditional Meke of Fijian songs and dances.
The Lovo feast begins at 6:30 pm.
Preparation for the Lovo feast begins at daybreak. Guests are invited to observe the Lovo earth oven fire pit built over river stones. Stones are heated to white-hot, then seafood, meats, and root vegetables wrapped in banana leaves and palm fronds are placed on the stones and covered to bake slowly. This unique method delivers truly delicious flavors for the buffet feast.
Guests are encouraged to wear a traditional Fijian sulu (sarong) for dinner.
