DIY Christmas: Tropical Jam Recipes

We believe that homemade gifts can be the most special, but also the most time consuming to prepare. That’s why we’re so excited to share an easy-to-make recipe that makes the perfect one-of-a-kind gift. 

And between us, we’d recommend keeping a jar for yourself. Because a little taste of paradise at breakfast is pretty sweet. Shout out to our team at Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort for sharing their well loved - and up until now top secret - tropical jam recipes.


Banana Jam
- Banana 1000 gm
- Sugar 500 gm
- Water 1000 gm
- Cinnamon 3 sticks
On medium high heat, add sugar and cook until melted (do not stir), then add banana and cinnamon and stir until caramel coats banana. Add water and let it boil, then simmer until banana is very tender. You will notice the ingredients become a jam consistency. Let it cool and then serve or package.
 
Mango jam
- Mango 1000 gm
- Sugar 500 gm
- Water 1000 gm
- Ginger 50 gm
- Lemon juice 1 pcs of lemon + lemon zest
Heat on medium high heat, add sugar and cook until melted (do not stir), then add mango and ginger and stir until caramel coats the mango. Add water and let it boil and then return to a simmer. Add lemon juice and the zest, mix well. Continue to simmer until mango is very tender. You will notice the ingredients become a jam consistency. Let it cool and serve or package.
 
Pineapple jam
- Pineapple 1000 gm
- Sugar 500 gm
- Water 1000 gm
- Honey 50 gm
- Butter 50 gm
On medium high heat, add sugar and cook until melted (do not stir), then add butter and stir to a caramelization. Add pineapple and stir until caramel coats the pineapple, then add water and honey and let it boil and then return to a simmer. Simmer until pineapple is very tender. You will notice the ingredients become a jam consistency. Let it cool and serve or package.
