A River of Lava on Big Island

In doing some research on ghost stories and Pele in Hawaii (they go hand in hand, many say), I ran across this last year this time, I discovered with Lava Ocean Adventures, a sunrise boat trek to the spot where lava enters the sea, and was enthralled. Truly. I'd list it in my top 5 coolest adventures in Hawaii.  That's where I snapped this picture.  We were so close I could feel the heat and smell the sulphur.  If you think you've missed it, you haven't. Madame Pele continues to flow.

As for that ghost story, stay tuned.

(Here's a shout out to Sheila Beale of Go Visit Hawaii. She introduced me to this video.  Mahalo, Sheila.)
