What Is Life?

On the inside wrapper of my new bar of Indigenous Soap, my "Soap of Fortune" by the Blackfoot warrior and orator Crowfoot reads:

What is life?
It is the flash of a firefly in the night.
It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime.
It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset."

And I am inspired to write:

What is life?
It is the single flap of a soaring albatross wing over the ocean.
It is the breath of a dolphin at first light.
It is the memory of laughter that rolls across the ocean's expanse and around the globe."

What about you? What does Crowfoot inspire you to write? Please share it here in the comments.

Have fun.

What is Life? It is the whisper of wind in the trees, It is the taste of a freshly picked blueberry. It is the gentle orange glow on the horizon as the sun begins to rise.

Nice, Wendy. I can hear it. I can taste it. I can see it. Thanks for playing along.
