Mom was sleeping in the shallows when her pup decided to take a bite out of her side. Guess Hawaiian monk seal pups are a little like kids–cute as can be but naughty, too. And if a monk seal pup’s teeth are anything like a puppy’s teeth, they’re sharp. As the incisors sunk in, Mom’s head jerked up, and I imagine she gave her pup a look like, “What the heck were you thinking?”
