Keahua Forestry Arboretum
Tree-lined and grassy, this is a perfect spot for a picnic—and there are lots of picnic tables scattered throughout the parklike setting. A shallow, cascading stream makes for a fun spot for kids to splash, although the water's a bit chilly. A 1-mi walking trail meanders through mango, monkeypod, and eucalyptus trees. This is an exceptionally peaceful place—good for yoga and meditation—that is, unless the resident roosters decide to crow. If it looks like rain, don't follow the road across the stream; it often floods, and could leave you stranded on one side. OPEN: Daily dawn--dusk.
