Snorkelers will find tons of coral and the fish who feed off it in this network of tide pools at the end of Kapoho-Kai Road. The pools are usually very calm, and some are volcanically heated.
Guidebooks usually say it's a toss-up between Hapuna and Kaunaoa for "best beach" on the island, but most locals give the prize to Hapuna. The beach itself is a long (1/2-mi), white, perfect crescent, one of the Big Island's largest.
