Waikoloa Beach Grill
Although on resort grounds (the first tee of the Waikoloa Beach
golf course, to be exact), the Waikoloa Beach Grill is independently owned and
operated by two accomplished chefs, Stephen Tabor (grill master) and David Brown
(bread and pastries). The menu comprises well-done classics from the Coquille
St. Jacques (a French shellfish casserole baked with cream sauce and sprinkled
with browned breadcrumbs) to the grilled rib eye to the best Bloody Mary's on
the island. Desserts are delicious and made fresh daily -- the pies are
outstanding, as is the cheese plate. Lunch includes entrée-size salads and huge
sandwiches and burgers served on homemade bread. It's great value, especially
given the skyrocketing rates of the surrounding establishments.
