Manta & Pavilion Wine Bar at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
Perched on the edge of a bluff overlooking the sparkling waters of Kaunaoa Beach, this is an amazing spot for a romantic meal at sunset, especially at one of the outside tables. The restaurant's Enomatic wine system allows guests to sample 48 different wines by the glass. Main dishes include macadamia nut-crusted lamb, Big Island butterfish, Kau coffee beef filet, butter-poached Keahole lobster, and a perfectly prepared seared ahi with Molokai sweet-potato puree and foie-gras spring roll. The crispy pork-belly appetizer with Kona baby abalone is not to be missed; try the squash soup topped with ohelo berry.
