Jackie Reys Ohana Grill
Uphill from downtown Kailua-Kona, this bright green open-air restaurant
is a popular lunch destination, and increasingly crowded for dinner as
well, thanks to the chef's fantastic poke, perfectly prepared local
seafood dishes, and a few juicy meat standouts, including Korean-style
short ribs and a delicious blackened prime rib. At lunchtime, the fresh
fish sandwiches with wasabi mayo and the chicken sandwich with avocado
and Swiss are both excellent combinations of flavors, and the fries are
crisped to perfection. On the lighter side, inventive salads like the
Angie salad, with candied walnuts, papaya, Maui onions, dried
cranberries, and blue cheese, keep it healthy but flavorful.
