Special Holiday Na Mele Kama`aina Concert and Sunday Showcase at Waikiki Beach Walk®

HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII - Outrigger Enterprises Group's is pleased to present a special holiday Na Mele No Na Pua Kama'aina concert in December featuring the very talented and harmonic sounds of the Honolulu Boy Choir on Sunday, December 20, 2009, 4 pm at the Grand Lanai of Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk®. This performance is sure to get everyone into the holiday spirit.

In addition, four talented groups return for an encore performances at Waikiki Beach Walk stage as December's Sunday Showcase series entertainment line-up. Don't miss these uplifting performances by The Performing Artist Academy, Hula Halau O Kehaulani, A Touch of Golf, and Nihoa.

Bi-monthly concert series held at the Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk, Grand Lanai, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm.

December 20 - Na Mele No Na Pua Concert presents The Honolulu Boy Choir

Roy and Nyle Hallman founded the Honolulu Boy Choir in 1974. The group is made up of boys' ages 7-13, representing all the ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds that make up Hawaii's distinctive rainbow of cultures. Seventy-five boys from over 45 public and private schools throughout the island of Oahu make up the Choir, which actually consists of three groups -- the Beginning Choir, the Performing Choir and the Select Choir, each characterized by vocal quality and range. The Honolulu Boy Choir is a tuition-free musical performance education program for boys that embraces cultural diversity and allows young boys who have had no prior singing experience to join the choir and have the opportunity to perform all over the world.

SUNDAY SHOWCASE
This free weekly program takes place every Sunday afternoon (weather permitting) from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Plaza Stage at Waikiki Beach Walk.

DECEMBER SUNDAY SHOWCASE

December 6 -The Performing Artist Academy (Variety)

Under the direction of William Daquioaq, the children and teens from the Performing Artist Academy will incorporate holiday, island, and contemporary tunes into their performance. Mr. Daquioaq, a musician with the Society of Seven Las Vegas, is the owner/director of The Performing Artist Academy and former vocal teacher for "American Idol" finalist, Jasmine Trias.

December 13 - Hula Halau O Kehaulani (Hawaiian/Halau)

Hula Halau O Kehaulani is under the direction of Kumu Kehaulani Sousa-Yonehiro. Hula Halau O Kehaulani is a non-competitive school offering both the ancient (kahiko) and modern (`auana) styles of Hula since 2007. Kumu Kehau holds a Bachelors of Arts in Dance from the University of Oregon and has been a dance director and teacher for over 15 years. She also frequently travels to Japan to teach and is currently sharing her talents with Mika Nakamura of Kiawe Hula Studio in Yokohama. Kehaulani learned the art of hula through Auntie Arlene Kauinohea DeSilva and Leiolani Pratt of Hawaii Kai. Hula Halau O Kehaulani also proudly performs at other venues throughout Hawaii.

December 20 - A Touch Of Gold (Classic Oldies, Motown, Contemporary)

A Touch of Gold is known as one of Hawaii's premiere musical groups. Over a decade since they began, "A Touch of Gold" continues to delight people of all ages. Their soulful harmonic voices will mesmerize you as they sing those classic hits of "Motown" from the 50's up to today. Join "A Touch of Gold" as they celebrate the release of their second CD.

December 27 - Nihoa (Hawaiian)

Veteran Hawaiian entertainer Andrei Puchert and Guitar Institute of Hawaii's Mike Barques come together as the duo Nihoa. From Hawaiian Falsetto singing, Hawaiian slack key guitar, to country and contemporary music, Nihoa brings an assortment of music to Waikiki Beach Walk.
